The German-language weekly Mallorca Zeitung, published by Prensa Ibérica which also owns the Diario de Mallorca, has published a comprehensive article about the new regulations introduced by the Consell de Mallorca last November, which apply to the process for obtaining the first occupancy certificate. As Gabriel Buades, lawyer at the firm International Desk, told the newspaper, the institution has introduced stricter conditions for granting the certificate, making it more difficult to obtain this document which is an essential requirement when occupying a property.
