Gabriel Buades, partner of the law firm, Buades Legal, participated in the Hosteltur TV programme, which was broadcast on 23rd of September where he analysed one of the main costs that hotel companies must bear year after year, the Spanish real estate property tax (IBI). It is a rate whose calculation is based on the cadastral value specified by the Administration, using pre-established objective parameters. Buades pointed out that “although it is not possible to establish a general rule for the savings to be achieved in the recommended review, we can effectively state that based on our experience, it is possible to obtain savings between 5% and 10% on the IBI tax rate.”
