Biography
Degree in Law from the Universidad Central de Barcelona (1975).
In 1977, after a stay in Madrid, he became a member of the Barcelona Bar Association and other Bar Associations in Catalonia. In 1979 he moved to Mallorca, where he became a member of the ICAIB and has been a practising member ever since.
In 1980 he attended a training programme at the Instituto de la Pequeña y Mediana Empresa Industrial (IMPI) of the Ministry of Industry and Energy and in 1981 he graduated in Business Management at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa (IESE), University of Navarra.
Joan Buades founded the firm in 1979. Since then he has managed it and developed his professional practice in the area of advising businesses, in particular on Commercial Law, Economic Criminal Law and Procedural Law.
Associate professor for 20 years, currently with the Department of Private Law at the University of the Balearic Islands and a lecturer on the UIB-ICAIB Master’s in Law programme.
He regularly takes part in conferences, round tables, seminars, etc., in the Balearics and throughout the rest of Spain. He is the secretary of the board of directors and legal adviser for various companies, business associations, foundations and other bodies.
Honorary Consul of Luxembourg in the Balearic Islands.
